Have you noticed that some things are inexplicably better together? Take tartar sauce for example; it’s just relish and mayo. I don’t like relish, and I could take or leave mayonnaise, but together—their amazing. Isn’t marriage like that?
I didn’t realize that I had a stingy nature until my husband wanted to give away some of our trees to a neighbour. “But we could sell them!” I resisted. I have learned to bend and go with him when God places on him the desire to pass something on. It is through Kevin’s generosity that I have learned the joy of giving.
Sometimes I’m amazed at how difficult marriage is, but I now see that it is so often the refining fire that God uses to make me more like Him. Cherish the differences; they’re there for a reason.
